Science Theater
One of the ways that Science from Scientists (SciSci) brings the exciting world of science to communities is through live, interactive STEM-themed science theater stage shows. These events feature exciting STEM demonstrations and accompanying explanations of experiments, such as: elephant toothpaste, chemiluminescence, the invisible giant, and a bed of nails. Past shows have taken place at Fenway Park in Boston, MA, The Hall at Patriot Place in Foxboro, MA, Joint Base Andrews in MD, and Disney World in Orlando, FL.

Science Theater demonstration examples:
Below are just a few examples of the types of dynamic science experiences presented by SciSci Scientist Educators during a science theater stage show event.
Flash Paper Demonstration
In this segment, Science from Scientists employs flash paper to vividly demonstrate the fascinating conversion of chemical and kinetic energy into light, thermal energy, and sound. This captivating display provides a firsthand look at the intriguing interplay of these energy forms.
Bubbling Cylinders
Dry ice takes center stage as SciSci engages the audience in a mesmerizing experiment. Acidifying basic solutions with acid-base indicators creates visually stunning bubbling effects and noticeable color changes, allowing students to witness chemical reactions firsthand.
Floating Papers and Leaf Blower Game
Divided into two compelling parts, this demonstration first utilizes simple strips of paper to explain Bernoulli's Principle. The second part takes the excitement up a notch, incorporating leaf blowers and beach balls to further explore and exemplify the principles at play.
Magdeburg Hemispheres Tug of War
In this interactive segment, SciSci delves into the physics of vacuums. Students actively participate in a tug of war, attempting to overcome the strength of air pressure. This engaging demonstration not only entertains but also educates on the principles governing vacuums.
Exploding Coke Bottles
Witness an explosive reaction when carbon dioxide molecules from soda interact with the irregular surface of Mentos. Through this demonstration, SciSci illustrates the buildup of pressure as gas strives to escape, providing a visually impactful example of chemical reactions.
Cup Crush and Bed of Nails
This segment is an interactive journey through basic pressure equations, progressing from Dixie cups to a larger-scale bed of nails demonstration. Students are entertained and gain a practical understanding of fundamental pressure concepts in a visually striking manner.
SciSci can work with you to customize a captivating experience that fits your event theme and duration. We can even add hands-on tabling activities for youth and their families to experience before and after the show.
Past Science Theater shows
Whether you’re looking for a special STEM experience for your upcoming corporate event or want to create an impact for thousands of children and families with a full production stage show, SciSci can work to customize a science theater experience that fits your needs and budget.
