San Francisco Bay Area
Our California region
Nowhere in the U.S. are the STEM statistics more dichotomous than in California. While California has nearly 900,000 STEM jobs accounting for more than 13% of the nation’s overall STEM-related workforce, only 34.6% of students placed at or above basic proficiency in STEM based on results from the 2024 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP). More rigorous STEM programming, inclusive to all elementary and middle school students, is necessary in California.
By partnering with schools and providing equitable access to STEM learning opportunities, SciSci aims to bridge this gap and ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed in STEM fields.
